Storm update / follow up:  Your help is requested, please read on.

DCR hopes to raise the dam back to the pre-storm level on Thursday.  They have a very full plate right now restoring facilities in Tolland State Forest in preparation for Labor Day weekend.  As we noted, there is quite a bit of debris in the lake from the storm.  In fact, I am looking at a complete dock, maybe 16x16, out in the middle of the lake right now.

DCR requests that individuals take the initiative and bring things into and secure to the shore.  Please continue to report your “lost & found” situations here and we will do our best to match you up with your water toys and such.

DCR also cautions us that we should continue to take care in navigation and also be alert for any potential HAZMATs which might have made it into the lake.

DCR has done an amazing job for us; now it’s our time to pitch in.

Ok all you dare devil boaters / jet ski people... Please, please slow it down. There is much flotsam and jetsam out there. A collection of tree & dock debris is waiting to mess up your day. If you must sight see, watch your wake or better yet no wake at all or even better keep it tied up until the lake level drops back down to normal. Thank you, ORPOA

URGENT:  DCR is currently doing an emergency drawdown of the lake to accommodate the expected rainfall from the hurricane this weekend.  The target is to the get the lake level down 6-12 inches before the storm hits.  There is the unlikely possibility that the water level could be dropped more than 12 inches.
